New build 166 up:
http://madshi.net/madVRhdrMeasure166.zip
Changes:
1) I've removed some lum methods.
2) I've dialed in the parameters of all the remaining "old" lum methods.
3) I've added "max3 variant 1" and "max3 variant 2", which still need to be dialed in.
The reason why I added "max3 variant 1" and "max3 variant 2" is that I've found that the max3 math wasn't fully adding up, so "max3 variant 1" and "max3 variant 2" are slightly different variations of max3 with a bit more exact math. They should look very similar to max3, but are ever so slightly different. With a bit of luck, not much tuning might be needed, and then hopefully we can make a quick decision which of the max3 variants we're going to keep. The other 2 will go.
I'm sorry for adding yet "new" lum methods. But hopefully it will be the last methods added, and hopefully they will be quick to be sort out, because they should be very near to max3.
Other than dialing in max4 and max5, we need to find suitable "Highlight Sat" settings for all remaining lum methods. I'm not sure if we can use the same Highlight Sat settings for each lum method. We may need to assign a specific Highlight Sat value to each lum method, or what do you guys think?
Finally, I've made a few changes to help with the "sep bug". But I've still had trouble reproducing the problems you reported. So can you please double check if there's still an issue? For me, as soon as I activate the "HSTM: no brightening" option, the "sep" lum method doesn't make the image brighter, anymore. I tried one of the "settings.bin" files a user attached to this thread a few days ago (sorry, I don't remember which one), but couldn't reproduce the issue with that one, either. But maybe I had already fixed something accidently in my latest source code? So please double check if the problem is still there with build 166. |
