LCD (projectors) in general have worse pixel response times compared to OLED, DLP, LCoS, etc.
That means the 24p judder is less significant because it takes more time for a pixel to switch to another colour, and thus the change is less abrupt.
Plasma works because it 'flashes' so it pixel position 1, black, pixel position 2; it is not abrupt, because the the black in between the flashes, your retina has some kind of falloff for the excitation of the color info, or something to that extent.
Not counting plasma; LCD has the best out of the box motion for 24p content if best motion is defined as "least amount of visible judder"
